TOP TIP ONE: MIDWEEK TRAVEL and OFF PEAK TRAVEL
If you can travel when other people don’t want to, this will
always save you money. The simplest example is midweek city breaks
which are nearly always cheaper than those at the weekend. It is
also cheaper to travel in “low season” months such as
November, January and February than peak months such as September
and October.
If you travel over holiday periods such as Bank Holidays, or for
a particular event such as a sporting fixture or trade show, this
will always increase the price.
But don’t forget, at Low Cost City Breaks we are happy to
quote for any departure date, and any duration. And if you book,
you will be covered by our Low Cost Guarantee.
TOP TIP TWO: BOOK EARLY
Low Cost City Breaks takes calls every day from people looking for
last minute deals to their favourite city destination, unfortunately
they are always disappointed. For City Breaks, the later you book
the more expensive your holiday will be. You may be used to package
holidays based on charter flights which are often much cheaper if
booked within two or three days of travel, but this is NOT true
in the City Break market. So remember the Top Tip - book early –
save money.
TOP TIP THREE: LOOK AT OTHER ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS
Good central 2 or 3 star properties are our lowest priced hotels.
However, in some cities we do have other accommodation which is
either very basic, or is located further out of the city centre,
but with easy transport links into the city centre. If you would
be happy to accept a lower standard or less central hotel, then
please let us know and we can tell you how much money you would
save.
TOP TIP FOUR: BE FLEXIBLE
Be as flexible as you can with your travel plans. By changing departure
and return dates, your holiday destination, the hotel rating or
your UK departure airport we can often save you money. Let us know
if you can be flexible and we can get back to you with our most
competitive quote.
TOP TIP FIVE: ASK LOW COST CITY BREAKS
No two quotes are the same, and Low Cost City Breaks staff have
a wealth of knowledge on the cities we offer and the cheapest options.
Talk to us and discuss what you are looking for, we are always happy
to let you have our advice and recommendations for your short break.
TOP TIP SIX: PAY BY SWITCH OR DELTA, NOT CREDIT CARD
The UK clearing banks now charge travel companies a very high fee
for accepting payment by credit cards, and we therefore have to
pass some of this charge on to our clients, currently 2% of the
selling price. To avoid this charge, simply pay for your holiday
by debit card, it’s as simple as that!!
